President Trump’s 1988 limousine goes to auction

Since taking office earlier this year, many former vehicles of President Donald Trump have gone to the auction. Some of the vehicles that have hit the auction so far include a Lamborghini Diablo and a Ferrari F430. Now, his 1988 Cadillac Golden Series Limousine is up next.
So far, all three vehicles that have gone to auction are currently going for far more than their market value. Trump’s Cadillac Golden Series limo will go for somewhere between $12,500 and $15,000 at Goodwood, according to auction house Bonhams.
The limo comes equipped with standard amenities for the era of the vehicles including a VCR player, a fax machine and even a safe. The interior of the vehicle features Rosewood paneling and fine Italian leather seats, that even come with the Trump logo stitched into them.
The 1988 Cadillac Golden Series utilizes a GMC C-platform. The limo is powered by a 5.0-liter V-8. Dillinger Coach Works did the build and the vehicle was presented to Trump at the 1988 Limousine and Chauffeur Show in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The 1988 Cadillac Golden Series was one of two concepts by Cadillac in an even bigger project entailing 50 limos for Trump, Inc. However, Trump opted to not go through with the full purchase and only bought one of the concepts.
The limo was most recently kept in Gloucester, MA and owned by mechanic Craig Eyres.
Trump’s Rosso Corsa (Racing Red) Ferrari F430 was auctioned off with its original title including “President Trump’s Trump Tower, New York address and his distinctive, bold signature.”
“President Trump owned the car for a little over four years during which time the car accrued a little over 2,400 miles,” according to Auctions America.
The Ferrari F430 showed fewer than 6,000 miles last month when it went to auction, according to Fox News. The vehicle is equipped with a 4.3-liter V-8 and semi-automatic F1 transmission.
Other cars previously owned by President Trump include a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, Cadillac Allante and Tesla Roadster.
Car Keys Stephen Goldasz teamed up with Business Insider to examine some of the nicest cars that President Trump owns, or has previously owned. Goldasz shared some interesting facts about the vehicles.
When asked about the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, he said “Probably the most intriguing Mercedes which Donald has owned, though, is the SLR McLaren supercar. IIt was originally launched back in 2003, back when Mercedes and McLaren Automotive were close partners. The combined efforts of these brands resulted in the creation of a striking two-door grand tourer which boasted 617bhp as standard from a supercharged V8. The only things possibly more striking than that were the car’s Formula 1-esque nose and its big gullwing doors.”
