20 Cars and Trucks that will Easily Go Over 200,000 Miles
It used to be a big deal when a car turned over 100,000 miles, but that’s an expected achievement from just about any modern car. 200,000 miles, however, is still an impressive landmark.
Let’s take a look at a few cars that have a proven track record of their durability and ability to hit one fifth of a million miles. At least 1% of every car on this list still on the road today has over 200,000 miles on the clock.
1. Ford F-250 Super Duty
While the more popular F-150 pickup deserves credit for its own longevity, its Super Duty sibling goes even further. Since it’s designed and built with commercial use in mind, it’s more likely to pile on more miles in its life. This is built more like a semi than a regular truck. Since heavy duty trucks are often used for hard work, they’re built to stand up to the punishment they’re likely to endure. Landscapers, contractors, and all sorts of tradesmen count on the Ford Super Duty to get the job done. They’re so satisfied with them, that they keep them around for well over 200,000 miles. Its longevity is one of the many reasons this Ford is the 2017 Motor Trend Truck of the Year.
2. Chevy Silverado 2500HD/GMC Sierra 2500HD
Here’s another heavy-duty truck that’s in it for the long haul. These trucks are just as at home around town or on the highway as they are roughing it on the worksite or going on an adventure off-road. Like the F-150, the Silverado and Sierra 1500 deserve credit where credit is due. The difference is, the 1500s are replaced more often than their 2500 counterparts. For an honest, working man’s truck, the Chevy is probably for you. However, if you enjoy the finer things in life and want to be pampered while pulling out stumps, the GMC Sierra offers a little more luxury in its workhorse.
